Unchained offers a suite of bitcoin financial services built on top of a unique collaborative custody model. These include: buying and selling bitcoin directly to and from cold storage, bitcoin retirement accounts, bitcoin-backed loans, concierge services to educate clients on best security practices, and cold storage solutions for institutions and other businesses.


Part planner and part community builder, Unchained is looking for our next Events and Marketing Coordinator! The Events & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for evaluating, planning and executing successful events from start to finish, and tracking both the success of the marketing initiatives and the event expenses. You will serve as a facilitator to bridge the gap between the company and the greater bitcoin community. Industry events, both large trade shows and smaller community events, help us grow our network and build brand awareness. You’ll work with the Marketing and Sales teams to align on the company’s annual/quarterly goals and determine which events offer Unchained maximum ROI potential.


  • Manage the Bitcoin Commons community space & events, including updating web pages, managing membership requests, membership billing, and budget
  • Maintain well-standing relationships with vendors, venues, hosts, and attendees
  • Schedule speaking engagements for the Unchained team as you network with content creators in the space
  • Execute all event logistics with attention to financial and time constraints: venue selection, hiring vendors, team travel and lodging, tickets/admission, registration and check-in
  • Build and manage workflows that track event planning stages from start to finish
  • Manage event marketing budget and track event expenses
  • Ensure the events are properly & strategically staffed
  • Work with design team on visual execution (booth designs, marketing materials, banners, etc)
  • Make sure promotional materials are produced and shipped
  • Conduct Quality Assurance at the event to ensure everything meets standards; oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
  • Run post-event debriefs with attending team members
  • “Ear to the ground.” Stay aware of events/conferences happening locally/nationally
  • Various office management responsibilities on an as needed basis, including mailings, office lunches, and vendor management


  • You can explain to someone the value proposition of bitcoin at a basic level.
  • You have 1+ years of event-planning experience, ideally coordinating with sales and marketing personnel, and managing logistics
  • You have the ability to travel up to 15% for events
  • You’re an extrovert and enjoy talking about Bitcoin to newbies and veterans alike
  • You would attend Bitcoin events even if you weren’t organizing them
  • You are a problem solver. Things happen, and being prepared to deal with challenges as they arise in a timely manner will keep the team, attendees, and event on track
  • You take pride and ownership in your work and are confident in your ability to evaluate opportunities and execute on deliverables
  • You are comfortable working with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • You live in Austin, Texas
  • You are able to work in-office with a traditional Monday thru Friday 9am-5pm schedule; exceptions include working off-site events and after hours BitDevs Meetups
